To deliver our AI-powered tracking capabilities, the App requests active permissions to access specific device sensors. These permissions are used exclusively as detailed below:
Purpose: Used to capture new photos or select gallery images of your meals and food plates.
Data Handling: Food images are securely transmitted to our encrypted server API for instantaneous processing by the Gemini AI vision engine to determine ingredients, portion sizes, calories, and macros. These images are processed transiently and are never saved permanently or sold to advertisers.
Purpose: Used to record fast voice logs (e.g., "I had two scrambled eggs and whole-wheat toast").
Data Handling: Audio inputs are converted to structured text transcripts in the cloud using Whisper AI. The audio files are processed in real-time and deleted instantly once the transcript text has been resolved and logged to your daily food summary.
Purpose: Reads step counts and sensor active minutes to automatically compute daily calories burned.
Data Handling: Step logs are processed locally on the mobile client and stored strictly on our secure, user-authorized database so your active calorie tracking matches your device's physical hardware sensors.
We keep your logged information only for as long as your account remains active. All data transactions between the CalorieCulator client and our server APIs are protected using SSL/TLS encryption. We protect your data within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss, theft, unauthorized access, copying, disclosure, or modifications.
Deletion Execution: When an account deletion is initiated, your user details and logs are instantly marked as pending-deletion and fully scrubbed and permanently expunged from all production servers and databases within 30 days.

Our services do not target or address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we discover a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it from our systems.
You can choose to deny access to your camera, photos, microphone, or physical activity trackers through your device's settings menu at any time. While you can still use the app with these disabled, please note that features relying on these permissions (such as voice search or photo scanning) will not function.
In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies regarding account-created applications, CalorieCulator provides complete, explicit control over your data. You can delete your account entirely, or request selective erasure of your historical activity data.
